Tarot Card Combinations
Two cards side by side say more than either alone. Learn how to blend them — then try any pairing in our free lookup.
How combinations work
The most reliable method for beginners is the keyword method: give each card one keyword, then weave them into a phrase. Eight of Wands (speed) + Six of Cups (old friends) = news from someone from your past. From there you can layer in elemental dignities — Fire and Air strengthen each other; Water and Earth do too; opposing elements soften or complicate.
Popular pairings
The Lovers + Two of Cups — mutual, values-based love
The Tower + The Star — upheaval, then healing
Death + The Sun — a hard ending into a bright new start
The Devil + Eight of Swords — feeling trapped by a pattern
Ace of Pentacles + The Empress — abundant new beginnings
The Moon + High Priestess — deep intuition, hidden truths
