my eyes arent what they were and a lot of modern decks have gone so soft and pastel that i lose the figures entirely. im after something with strong line work and real contrast, ideally bold borders too. less watercolor dream, more woodcut. what are people reading from that actually holds up at arms length?

id think twice before reaching straight for a rider-waite smith clone here. pamela coleman smiths line work is strong but the color muddies in the cheaper printings. if contrast is the goal the printing matters as much as the art. the Smith-Waite Centennial is lovely but some find it a bit dim

honest answer, the deck that keeps coming up for low vision folks is the Radiant Rider-Waite. the colors are turned way up and the outlines stay crisp, it reads clearly even in bad lighting. the Light Seers is pretty but no, too soft for what youre describing. if you want bold bold, look at the Modern Witch tarot, heavy flat color and thick lines. and dont sleep on just getting a larger format printing, the jumbo decks exist for exactly this reason and holding a bigger card at arms length changes everything. test under your actual lamp before you commit if you can
